Tencent warns the NEO community of a vulnerability that allows hackers to remotely steal tokens-9.63

Tencent, China’s tech giant, has informed NEO developers and node operators about a bug that enables hackers to steal tokens from user node wallets remotely. According to the tech giant’s security lab, when a user starts a network node with default configurations, the associated wallet can be remotely hacked by an attacker. The security lab is recommending users upgrade their latest NEO nodes and manually change wallet addresses to avoid the bug.

NEO is a smart contract and dApp platform. The platform is often referred to as the “Chinese Ethereum” due to its popularity in China and its similarities to the smart contract platform. NEO has a market cap of $532M as of the time of this writing. (Source: BlockManity)
