Yan Zhu is an engineer with many accomplishments. She is renowned security engineer, open web standard author, technology speaker, open source contributor, and many other accolades. She has been listed in Forbes 30 under 30 in Enterprise Technology. Some of her contributions include HTTPS Everywhere, Lets Encrypt, Secure drop, Privacy Badger. She joined the Basic Attention Token (BAT) team in its Security and Privacy Engineering division. She has also worked for Yahoo, assisting in their email encryption project. She is currently working as a Senior Software Engineer at Brave and a Technology Fellow at the Electronic Frontier Foundation.
Before her ventures into Computer Science, Zhu was interested in experimental physics, having studied early at MIT. She almost pursued a PhD in Stanford University, before leaving the institute to pursue her current plethora of engagements in the cryptocurrency space.
